Burberry AW17: Makers House

The Exhibition at Makers House home to the Henry Moore Foundation opened a week after the Burberry fashion show. The exhibition featured a display of 78 couture capes that was introduced on the runway for AW17. These capes were inspired by the scale and form of Henry Moore's sculpture.
The exhibition screened the Fashion show, the collection and the creative process.
It is unfortunately closed now, I have no doubt they will reinstall a exhibition that coincides with their coming collection for SS18.

Designers - Over the last two years I've noticed a rise of designers open up their art into our worlds. Chanel took over The Saatchi Gallery to host their exhibition
'Mademoiselle Prive'. It was spaced over three floors, carrying the charm, personality and many wonders of Chanel.
Louis Vuitton who delivered us the  LV Series 3, taking over 180 Strand to unveil the inspiration of their catwalk show. CEO Michael Burke of LV said 'This isn't a Vuitton lesson. I just want them to be able to feel it.' It's becoming more prominent for brands to create and encapsulate an emotional interconnection between the brand and the consumer. It's a creatives journey into the artist world; a compilation of  history, influence and untold stories that are shared in a personal way, as intended. This is the second exhibition from Burberry following their collection, why I enjoy this and other exhibitions in similar fashion is that fashion shows can be a few minutes if that; whats's wonderful is to be able to see different aspects of the collection from sketches to garments. To have more than a moment to journey through the minds behind such a special collection.

Peju is a forthcoming Womenswear and Knitwear designer based in London. She's a brilliant cook, so talented & very creative check her IG out her feed is dope. Enough, enough here is her take on the Exhibition:
The curation of exhibiting was visually captivating - celebrating Henry Moore's beautiful sculptures along side the excellent show of craftsmanship from the structured intricacy of the Burberry AW17 collection. It was truly inspiring to see the collection and its ideas/development showcased in the same space as the show.
